Colour Play at the Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge.

Would you let your small child loose in a gallery space?
Imagine an entire venue designed especially to cater for your child's explorative needs.

‘A very large part of a child’s early education is built on and from art experience,’ Daphne Plaskow.

Colour play is an interactive, workshop for the under fours, the emphasis is on the child's own ability to discover things for themselves, to engage with what interests them, to create and play. This is a particularly wilful and determined age group and having had four children of my own I understand the benefits of a safe and secure environment where this can happen. Colour play might be the first introduction to a gallery space for a child and is an ideal opportunity for arts centres and galleries to establish a rapport with families.
