Investigating 'story' - World Book Day 2014

What an incredible week! Delighted to have met so many wonderful new people in Dublin, Meath and Galway, thanks Dubray for the wonderful welcome (as always.)  HELLO 1st class pupils from St. Mary's in Trim and the Educate Together School in Ashbourne. Thanks to all the fantastic children who never fail to inspire and surprise with their knowledge and spontaneity. We created story-scapes, told our own stories and made up new words like scary+ambitious= scambitious (bet you can think of a few people who fit that description.) Really enjoyed the visits to Ashbourne (a purpose built modern library with a full programme of dynamic events) and the beautiful town of Trim which is well worth visiting as is the lovely library(I'll definitely go back there.)

It's been very enriching to consider the concept of story with both adults and children this week and it's set to continue with adults at the weekend as I embark on a storytelling course with nine others at the Arts Centre in Galway, facilitated by #DaveRock. The constant shift out of the comfort zone over the past five weeks has been fascinating and thoroughly recommend it if you're up for a challenge. As for investigating 'story', it might be a good long while before that topic's exhausted.
