Latest on Children's graveyard Mother and Baby Home Tuam:
Model of the Mother and Baby Home by Catherine Corless
The 2nd excavation on the children's graveyard has been completed. This excavation took place in the same area as the one carried out in October 2016. It appears that the archaeologists did a more comprehensive dig and examination the 2nd time round, after they had examined their first find. Some large steel sheets approx. 10x8 feet were brought into the site last week, I have not been informed what these are for, as the Archaeologists are under 'a vow of secrecy' by the Inquiry Commission not to converse with anybody.
Although I have been before the Commission of Inquiry and have given them a copy of each and every piece of my years of research and findings into the Mother and Baby Home in Tuam and the children's graveyard, they do not engage with me as regards any revelations. I continue to help the Survivors of this Institutions on a daily basis in a voluntary capacity. My first step is to give them the information, that Tusla hold the Registers of mothers and children who have been in the Tuam Home, and I direct them to Tusla for that information, but so many Survivors come back to me in dismay that Tusla have no answers for them except for a few scant details. I then use my own limited resources to help them find news of their mothers/family, and often sadly just the resting place of family, as too much time has passed for contact. I can only hope that the Commission of Inquiry will do justice to all the Survivors and continue the probe into the children's graveyard, as it is the wish of Survivors who have family buried there to have this area recognised as a children's graveyard and to offer them some final dignity.
Meanwhile as regards the massive outpouring of grief and generosity from people worldwide back in 2014, there is a fund of nearly 40,000 Euro in place for the provision of the bronze plaques and memorial garden to the babies and children who died, with all the names and ages of those 798 babies and children who are buried there. We cannot go ahead with this plan of erecting the plaques and memorial garden until the Commission of Inquiry will issue their final Report on what they intend to do about the children's graveyard. I will post any new developments if I hear of any.

Burial ground claim at old Grove hospital - Tuam Herald

PROGRESS on a new Mental Health Services facility at the old Bon Secours hospital in Tuam may be halted by a claim that there are infants buried on lands to the rear of the site.
Planning permission is currently being sought by the HSE for the complete transformation of the Grove Hospital building which will become a Mental Health Services Facility, Early Intervention and Disability Services Facility.
County planners are due to issue a decision on the application at the end of this month but a submission from an Oranmore resident is calling for a stop on any work pending a full and detailed archaeological assessment of the alleged burial site. Article by Siobhan Holliman Wed.feb.15th 2017

Port Na Bpucai, Tony MacMahon

Sacred and powerful.
This is the beautiful air Port na bPúcaí (The Music of the Ghosts) from the Blasket Islands. It was said that islanders heard a mystical music and thinking it was disquieted spirits composed this air using the notes they heard in an attempt to placate the unhappy ghosts.

Recent thinking suggests that they were, in fact, listening to whale-song reverberating through the canvas hulls of their boats. #februarymonthofthefae

Truth + Trust = Thrust

As mentioned before, we're in between two eclipses, the lunar eclipse which was on Fri.10th Feb and the solar eclipse which will take place on Sun.26th Feb. It's a really good time to release, review, resolve, purge and cleanse all those harboured issues but also some of the self-limiting attitudes we all have too, such as self-sabotage and fear.

In light of the revelations concerning Sgt.Maurice McCabe (they'll be many more to come), there's still so much fear being generated around truth telling. Telling the truth it seems, has dire consequence and the example set by Maurice McCabe, whilst admirable, has had a drastic affect on both himself and his family.
Is it worth It? We might ask ourselves.
I believe it is.
He has exposed many truths during the process of 'whistleblowing' and whilst he's presently in a place of suffering as a direct result of the high price he's paid, things will shift for us all as a society because of his actions.

With that in mind I was also thinking about truths I need to tell about myself; the person who has always seen, felt, heard and experienced different dimensions and the spirit world. I've had so much fear about fully accepting and talking about the 'second sight' I have. Whilst I've shared this with a certain amount of people, I don't tell everyone. Why is that?
Pure fear.
Fear of being roasted...committed or ostracised. Unfounded fears that have come from the experience I had as as child; that seeing and hearing things that other people can't perceive will land me in trouble like a psychiatric unit. My mother was Schizophrenic but also very psychic and it's been a difficult process for me to undo the correlation between the two. That said, we're moving into a new energy and because this energy is eclipse energy right now, it won't be too long before others, who might never have experienced different realities also start to see and feel things for the first time. Luckily, I know other people who are clairvoyant etc..(we have a way of finding each other) but I also feel that it's about time I 'came out,' so to speak. It kind of gives permission for others to do the same and it feels good.

When the news about the Tuam Babies hit the headlines over two years ago, the story stayed with me and didn't go away. A restlessness about it was always in the background. My sleep was infiltrated by the babies and many signs and visions came my way. Then one significant day whilst I was at a healing workshop (many people are working on these issues behind the scenes) the ground in the room we were working in opened up and I could see hundreds of tiny baby arms reaching up, clamouring for attention and in the midst of it, hoards of elemental-faery creatures flying about and away from the baby arms. This was as clear as day and went on for many minutes. At the time, I didn't know what it all mean't or why I was being shown such imagery but over time, I've understood that it was the first real vision(of this particular kind)to jolt me into action. Afterwards, I was shown many different things and given steps to follow. There was choice, I wasn't coaxed into doing anything but always kept an open heart rather than using my logical mind which would have led me nowhere. The babies are a collective, they come in as one unified force- 'The Spirit of Baby'. They originally showed themselves as individuals (so I could understand who they were) and their spirit is exactly like that of a new born baby-anarchistic (they do their own thing-they're lawless) they wake me up during the night with their persistence but are loving and joyful in return.

I see most of the Spirit world: people who have passed over, living people in spirit form, star beings, animal spirits, elementals (faery) and other bizarre stuff that I have no clue about. They visit whenever they want, which is most days. I don't demand anything from them and vice versa. I just try to keep an open heart which is the hard bit whenever a new energy form presents.

That's probably enough about that for the time being. It's fantastic to finally say it  :-)

Who are we not to confidently embrace our gifts and share them with the world?

Currently I'm in a state of Truth + Trust = Thrust and so far I haven't been burned at the stake for it.

Tuam as metaphor

Interesting that February is month of the fae (nature spirits, the good people, sidhe/shee,  elementals) whatever you wish to describe as earth magick.

It is especially interesting that right at this time, when we're naturally tuning in to the optimistic signs of Spring and seeing, once more, the miracles of life budding all around us, that we are also experiencing some major astrological shifts. Yesterday (Feb10th) was the first of two eclipses that are to occur during this month!!! The next is a solar eclipse on Feb.26th. That's some very powerful energy coming at us when you consider that the effects of an eclipse last for over six months.

Yesterday was a lunar eclipse which is really about releasing, resolving and letting go of ALL that shit! But in order to do so, we have to be prepared to delve deep and bring to the surface those ugly buried truths which have been causing so much discomfort, really seeing them for what they are, then LETTING THEM GO! Follow your own guidance how best to do this but this is also a really great time to see a counsellor or healer.

The timing of this is also very powerful in terms of what's happening in Tuam (a second excavation is occurring right now-during a lunar eclipse). Tuam as I've mentioned many times on this blog before, comes from the word Tumulus (burial mound) and therefore represents all burial mounds and hidden truths. A second excavation means that something of significance was found at the first and the 'diggers' have now returned to
delve deeper and bring to the surface that which has been buried for so long. What that will reveal (there'll be many revelations over the next few months) will be hugely significant in terms of how this whole inquiry is finally delivered but in the context of other revelations (the serious injustices  racked up against ex-garda Maurice McCabe for example) anything can happen or be revealed and that includes other dimensions. People will start to see things as they really are. The veils are finally dropping.

The next eclipse will occur at the end of the month, that's a two week time frame. We don't know how long the dig in Tuam will go on for but it's hugely significant that all of this happening at once. The fae and the babies (those who died prematurely or were buried in secrecy at the margins or boundaries) inhabit the same place as each other, unbaptised babies especially were often buried near walls or in faery mounds and so the two whilst being very separate frequencies are fairly intertwined. Both were cast out over the last century and remained hidden but both are anarchistic by nature and are beginning to demand attention (more on this tomorrow.) As stated, we're moving into a powerful new phase and if we take the symbolism of Tuam and delve into our own hidden depths and are prepared to transmute our own stuff, then we can really step into the power of what the solar eclipse has to offer later this month.

Connecting to nature and the fae will help immensely with the process.#tuamspiritbabies #tuambabies #februarymonthofthefae

*Sidhe - are earthen mounds which in Irish folklore are believed to be the home of the Aos Sí (The people of the mounds) The sidhe are considered to be a distinct race, quite separate from humans. Feadh -ree a modification of the word peri.

Ban Shee - a woman of the faery mound is a female spirit who heralds the death of a loved one by shrieking or keening. The Ban shee like the babies and the rest of the fae were demonised and cast out.

Igniting Creativity workshop - Sat.25th February

Why make an application to the Commission of Investigation?

The team are back at the burial site in Tuam, the excavation has resumed. This move has gone largely under the radar. I don't see any reports in the media except a tweet by Kevin Higgins on Feb.1st. If the work has begun again there's more to be discovered.

It's hugely important then that people who have had experiences regarding the Mother and Baby Homes come forward with their accounts. Firstly, it validates the Inquiry. Secondly, some accounts might just qualify another persons evidence (when more than one person delivers similar information  it strengthens the story. It makes it more believable.) Giving an account for the first time might be a horrific experience for the teller but living with it untold, is worse. Pretending it didn't happen doesn't make it go away, it only increases mental and physical anguish. Buried secrets have a way of coming to the surface regardless.
Thirdly, it affords people the opportunity to reclaim their own sense of power and self worth. By talking about the things that have happened to us, we take control of our lives. In doing so it's important to let go of any expectation - the experience of sharing the story may be enough. That's the trick to self-healing. You will be heard in the correct context. As mentioned in an earlier post, please seek counselling and support during this process.

The moon spun round: WB Yeats for Children

Here's a review I wrote for Children's Books Ireland (recommended reads) during the summer. Incredible faery magic in this book.
W.B YEATS, NOREEN DOODY (EDITOR, INTRODUCTION) ILLUSTRATION SHONA SHIRLEY MACDONALD
THE MOON SPUN ROUND: WB YEATS FOR CHILDREN
O'BRIEN 2016 (HBK) 64pp €19.99 £14.99 ISBN 13 97818477384
A beguiling collection of Yeats's poems, stories and memories from childhood, steeped in magic and faery lore, this mystical treasure trove is sure to enchant the older reader. MacDonald's stunning compositions perfectly match the imaginative world Yeats conjures and together they form an enticing vision of an Irish landscape. This is a book to be pondered, poured over and visited many times; each time hearing or seeing something afresh in the words and images. [SC]  #februarymonthofthefae

Warwick Goble

By Warwick Goble

Warwick Goble was born on 22 November 1862 in Dalston, North East London. The son of a commercial traveller, Goble studied first at the City of London School and then at the Westminster School of Art. He illustrated numerous books including: The Water Babies by Charles Kingsley(1909) The War of the Worlds by H.G Wells and the book of Faery Poetry by D.Owen. Not much seems to be documented about his life, although he was a keen sportsman but his beautiful work speaks volumes.

March 1st - Deadline for applications to the Confidential Committee

During the Tuam Spirit Babies exhibition I met an awful lot of people with horrific stories and eye witness accounts of some very particular events. Some were sharing for the first time. I urged those people then and I urge those who have yet to tell their stories, to please, please do so. It's hugely important to come forward but please seek counselling and support during the process. Lots of love to you SadieXx

The forget-me-not-fairy

Where do fairy babies lie
Till they're old enough to fly?
Here's a likely place, I think,
'Mid these flowers, blue and pink,
(pink for girls and blue for boys:
Pretty things for babies' toys!)
Let us peep now, gently. Why,
Fairy baby, here you lie!
Kicking there, with no one by,
baby dear, how good you lie!
All alone, but, you're not -
You could never be - forgot!
O how glad I am I've found you,
With Forget-me-nots around you,
Blue, the colour of the sky!
Fairy baby, Hushaby!
